Job summary

CRH Ash Grove Cement seeks a skilled mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems on industrial equipment. You will read manuals and schematics, perform repairs, and lead preventive maintenance to keep machinery running smoothly.

Responsibilities include generating work orders, using diagnostic tools, and collaborating with engineers and technicians. Must lift up to 50 lbs and be flexible with hours. On-site work in Texas with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/technical training certificate or associate degree a plus.
  • At least 1 year of relevant field experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across organization levels.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team; strong manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and diagnose problems with machinery or mobile equipment.
  • Perform repairs or replace parts as necessary.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and PM programming.
  • Generate and close work orders in the operating system.
  • Consult manuals, blueprints, and schematics to understand systems.
  • Utilize a wide range of tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Collaborate with mechanics, engineers, and technicians on projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • May be required to be on-call.
  • Install equipment and machinery as needed.
  • Maintain regular attendance and scheduling flexibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

A mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issues in machinery or mobile equipment. They use diagnostic tools and their own expertise to identify problems, and then perform repairs or replace parts as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Accurately identify problems with machinery or mobile equipment using diagnostic tools and their own knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Perform repairs or replace parts as necessary
  • Perform preventive maintenance and develop PM programs to keep machinery and mobile equipment running smoothly and prevent future issues
  • Generates work orders and closes them in operating systems
  • Refer to and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to understand the layout and function of various mechanical systems
  • Use wide range of tools, from simple wrenches and screwdrivers to more complex diagnostic equipment and power tools
  • May work independently or as part of a team, collaborating with other mechanics, engineers, and technicians to complete projects
  • Must keep work area clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency
  • May be required to be on-call
  • Install equipment and machinery as needed.
  • Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or technical training certificate or associate's degree in related field a plus
  • At least 1 year of experience in a relevant field
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with various levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must have technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, manual dexterity, and attention to detail
