Pitlik & Wick, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Mechanic to troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment and fleet vehicles. The role requires hands-on skills in transmission systems, hydraulics, brakes, and suspensions, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid CDL, welding capability with oxyacetylene equipment, and proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools. The position includes variable hours and on-site shop work at our Wisconsin facility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Truck & Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Mechanic with experience troubleshooting and repairing all types of equipment including heavy equipment and fleet vehicles.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following tasks: Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Working knowledge of all transmission types, braking systems, hydraulics, and vehicle suspensions. Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. Completes fleet maintenance repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. Assists in the repair and adjustment of equipment. Washes vehicles and equipment. Conducts safety checks on vehicles. Assists with service calls for breakdowns. Performs other maintenance related work as required. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards. Experience with welding and metal fabrication preferred.
High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Ability to operate, maintain, and clean equipment. Ability to work with others to coordinate work. Work in a safe and efficient manner. Must be punctual and dependable. Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Valid and current CDL. Ability to weld and use an oxyacetalene cutting torch. Be capable of operating computerized diagnostic equipment. Determine machine or vehicle condition through inspections and tests; identify damaged, worn, and broken parts and correct deficiencies by removing, repairing, and replacing as necessary. Keeps shop/repair equipment operating by following operating instructions; maintain supplies as needed; perform preventative maintenance. Contain costs by using warranties where available and by evaluating service and parts options. Must have a smartphone or tablet for timecard submittal. Must have a clean driving record. The ability to work varied hours including early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.
