Job summary

cmsllc is seeking a Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to operate the service truck and crane, repair heavy equipment and fleet trucks, and perform on-site service at job sites.

The role requires diesel engine expertise, welding skills, and the ability to work independently, with travel up to 50% and CDL or state inspection license preferred.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
  • Ability to operate service truck with crane.
  • Fabrication & welding skills required.
  • Ability to work independently, utilize good judgement and make decisions.
  • CDL preferred.
  • State Inspection license preferred.
  • Experience with paving equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Repair heavy equipment and fleet trucks, light equipment and tools.
  • Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment.
  • Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts.
  • Perform major repair work when necessary.
  • Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.
  • Drive to job sites to make repairs on site.
  • Maintain detailed records of service vehicles.
  • Ensure shop is clean and organized.
  • Own and maintains a master mechanic set of tools.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Job description

Job Purpose

The Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the operation of the company’s service truck and crane to repair equipment on job-sites. This role also inspects, services, and maintains vehicles and equipment in the shop.

Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Responsible for the service and repair of heavy equipment as well as fleet trucks, light equipment and tools
  • Diagnoses faults using computerized testing equipment
  • Adjusts equipment and replaces faulty parts
  • Performs major repair work when necessary
  • Reports damaged or faulty equipment to management
  • Drives to job sites to make repairs on site
  • Maintains detailed records of service vehicles
  • Ensures shop is clean and organized
  • Owns and maintains a master mechanic set of tools
  • Performs related duties as assigned
