Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking a skilled Mechanic in Dodge City, KS. The role focuses on disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of rotating equipment, while following drawings, OEM specs, and safety protocols.

You will troubleshoot issues, document findings, and interact professionally with customers to keep operations running smoothly. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, strong mechanical aptitude, and experience with precision tools such as micrometers,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and multi-craft experience a plus.
  • Proficient with precision measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of mechanical fits, tolerances, and alignment.
  • Familiar with API, ANSI, OEM standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug test and background check.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and bend.
  • Coachable and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble rotating equipment under supervision.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and lead root-cause analysis.
  • Interpret technical drawings, OEM manuals, and repair specs.
  • Document repair findings, measurements, tolerances, and parts used.
  • Represent OTC professionally and build customer relationships.
  • Follow safety protocols and stay current through training.
  • Handle emergency service calls to keep operations moving.
  • Be flexible and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Work under the direction of Shop Manager to align with daily goals.

Competitive Pay:

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $25/hr. to $35/hr., depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do:
  • Performs duties assigned under the direction of Shop Manager to ensure the team is aligned to the goals and objectives for the team for each day.
  • Perform and oversee the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and lead root cause analysis on equipment failures.
  • Interpret technical drawings, OEM manuals, and repair specifications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of repair findings, measurements, tolerances, and parts used.
  • Represent OTC professionally and build strong customer relationships.
  • Follow safety protocols and stay current through ongoing training.
  • Handle emergency service calls with speed and precision to keep operations moving.
  • Be flexible and ready to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
What You'll Need:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Mechanical aptitude; multi-craft experience a plus. Proficient in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical fits, tolerances, and alignment procedures.
