Job summary

Texscape Services in Dallas, TX, seeks a Mechanic responsible for maintenance and repair of commercial landscape equipment. You will diagnose faults, perform routine servicing, and ensure safety standards are met. Prior experience with landscape machinery is preferred, and owning your tools is a plus.

Job Summary

Qualifications

Education

• One to three years general equipment maintenance and repair experience
• High school Diploma or GED

Language Skills

• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus

Mathematical Skills

• Basic
• Reasoning Ability
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

• Valid driver license issued by the state where employed, with a record in good standing
• DOT Medical Card (company sponsored)

Other Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Has own tools
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner

Essential Duties

• Knowledge of Mowing and Landscape equipment
• Two Cycle engine repair
• Routine maintenance of commercial equipment
• Diagnostic troubleshooting and repair
• Effectively communicate shop needs/concerns with management personnel.
• Abide by company guidelines and safety policies.
• Shows up to work each day on time; completes all tasks within time expectations; adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and sick leave reporting procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand and walk
• Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus
• Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
• Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and seldom lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds

Working Conditions

• Frequently works with mechanical objects and frequently outside in all weather conditions
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
• Frequently exposed to loud noise levels
