Some duties include inspections, part removal/installation, diagnostics, and accurate documentation, all while delivering exceptional customer service.Duties/Responsibilities:Perform maintenance and repairs on company equipment to established standardsComplete routine truck upkeep, including fluid checks, cleanliness, inspections, and documentationManage and maintain inventory on the service truck to ensure proper stocking of parts and toolsReceive daily assignments from the Service Manager and respond to after-hours or on-call needs as requiredUse diagnostic tools and technical resources to identify issues and perform accurate repairsDiagnose, remove, and replace components such as injectors, oil pans, fan hubs, fifth wheels, brakes, and batteriesConduct preventative maintenance and verify repairs through test drives and equipment checksDocument work performed in the company’s computer or mobile service system in a timely and accurate mannerMaintain positive customer interactions and advise on recommended future repairsParticipate in ongoing training and apply updated knowledge to daily workAdhere to all safety requirements, including proper PPE use; role is safety-sensitive and subject to drug testing.Travel to field locations as neededProvide personal hand and power tools; company provides diagnostic equipment and specialty toolsThe absence of specific statements of duties does not exclude those tasks from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment of the position.Required Skills/Abilities:Proven work experience as a mechanic and/or welderProficient in the Microsoft Office SuiteFamiliar with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and brake systemsKnowledge of safety regulations and safe work practicesStrong organization and attention to detailExperience with MC 331 and DOT 407 trailers a plusEducation, Certification, Licenses Required:High school diploma or equivalent requiredMust have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving recordASE, Diesel Mechanic, or Hydraulics/Welding certifications a plusPhysical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements:The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 20 to 100 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shiftAbility to regularly climb in and out of vehicles multiple times per work shiftGood hand eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at nightFrequent sitting, reaching with hands and armsMust be able to speak and hearIf applicable, position is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company providerMust pass pre-employment screening and background checkPosition may require working evening hours and weekends as neededWork is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes, airborne particles, and gases is commonThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work that is expected to be performed.
