Job summary

Meritum Energy Holdings is seeking a Propane/Refined Fuel Delivery Bobtail Driver to load, transport, and deliver propane and refined fuel to residential and commercial customers in a safe, compliant manner.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat/tanker endorsements, a TWIC card, and the ability to perform inspections and maintain records. Experience in propane/fuel distribution is preferred; DOT compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Class A CDL with hazmat/tanker endorsements.
• Propane certification preferred but not required.
• 3+ years tractor-trailer experience in propane/fuel distribution.
• TWIC card within 30–90 days of employment.
• Ability to pass DOT medical and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Loads, secures, transports, and delivers propane to residential and commercial locations.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on hazardous materials equipment.
• Maintains accurate truck inspection, hours of service, and miles driven records.
• Monitors vehicle maintenance and reports larger issues to supervisor.
• Complies with all DOT regulations and safety procedures.

Our Bobtail Drivers are committed to Service, Efficiency and Safety.Duties/Responsibilities:Complies with all city, state, and federal regulationsLoads, secures, transports, and delivers propane to residential and commercial locationsProvides a high level of service to customersPerforms pre and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materialsMaintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven in compliance with all DOT regulationsMaintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safetyEnsures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisorApplies a thorough understanding of the technical concepts, practices and procedures and a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to testing and transporting bulk petroleum products to pipeline injection pointsPerforms other related duties as assignedThe absence of specific statements of duties does not exclude those tasks from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment of the position.Skills/Abilities:Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.Ability to maintain accurate logs and recordsAbility to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervisionMust have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving recordAbility to obtain the required certifications for LP delivery through the TXRRC within 30 - 90 days of employmentEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredClass A CDL license with hazmat/tanker endorsements requiredPropane certification (highly preferred, but not required)Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 2 years3+ years tractor and trailer experience in propane and/or fuel distribution business (preferred)1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years (preferred)Physical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements:The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 100 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift.Ability to regularly climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, multiple times per work shiftGood hand eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at night.Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and armsMust be able to speak and hearPosition is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company providerMust pass pre-employment screeningPosition may require working additional hours as needed.Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common along with exposure to airborne particlesThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work that is expected to be performed.
