Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. seeks an experienced Machinist to set up and operate machining centers for precision metal parts used in mining trucks.

The role involves reading engineering drawings and routings, performing deburring, and possibly assisting with assembly in a team environment. Applicants should have 3+ years in machining, the ability to work from technical documents, meet production and quality targets, and pass a DOL-mandated medical exam.

Qualifications

• Three or more years as a Machinist responsible for setup and operation of machining centers.
• Ability to work from technical drawings, routings, and procedures.
• Meet production and quality requirements for machining work.
• Prepare for a physical exam consistent with DOL Medium duty work and drug testing.

Job Overview

Komatsu’s Machinistsuse machine tools, such as lathes and milling machines to produce precision metal parts utilized in all models of Komatsu’s mining trucks.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Set up and operate any and all machines assigned to a machining area.
• May be required to operate more than one machine at any given time.
• Will perform washing and deburring of parts as required.
• May perform appropriate assembly functions within the work area.
• Operates appropriate heating and chilling equipment to facilitate the assembly process of the hydraulic product.
• Works from engineering drawings, routings, and procedure sheets.
• Ability to work effectively with other employees within the work area or team.
• Responsible for quality of own work.
• Will work under supervision, which can be minimal at times. Will train other operators as directed.
• Will be required to use information systems as necessary to perform job duties.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Three or more years of experience as a Machinist during which the applicant was responsible for the setup and operation of one or more machining centers.
• Possess the ability to work from technical drawings, routing, and procedures.
• Able to meet both production requirements and quality requirements for machining work.
• Will be required to complete a physical commensurate with DOL Medium duty work requirements which includes drug testing.
