Job summary

Homeland is hiring a Meat Wrapper to greet customers, assist, and ring them up, while maintaining the meat department with careful cuts and meat by the pound.

You will supervise cooler and prep areas, verify deliveries, and ensure accurate pricing and labeling, all while adhering to health codes and safety standards in a busy store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and wrap meat per health codes.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and ring up customers.
• Wrap cuts of meat by pound and ensure proper labeling.
• Supervise cooler/freezer prep and verify deliveries.
• Check temperatures 4 times daily using the timekeeping system.
• Maintain signage and department cleanliness and debris removal.

Apply here today!Oklahomans Feeding Oklahomans.Meat WrapperPart TimePrimary ResponsibilitiesGreet, assist, and ring out all customers politelyWrap cuts of meat and by pound meat carefully and within all standard health codesAbility to comprehend and provide complex verbal instructions and descriptions concerning store policy and procedures, and usage of equipmentTo supervise/perform organize the cooler/freezer/preparation area for receipt of merchandise, verify the merchandise against the invoice, inspect the delivery for shortages/damage and quality, sort cases for stocking or product preparation and code-date all case items in the cooler/freezerProperly lift and hold various cuts of meat through a full shift, extensively ensuring proper wrapping standardsSUPERVISION RECEIVED: Meat Wrapper reports directly to the Meat Department Manager.QualificationsBasic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide)High School Diploma or EquivalentPrior supervisory experienceSpecific tasksLift, twist, move, hold, and carry a maximum of 80 lbs., from the floor to shelving, or overhead racks in the store and cooler/freezerMaintain active signage and pricing in all departmental areasCare for signs, banners, and debris from daily operationsAccurately and efficiently handle cash, debit/credit, EBT/WIC, coupons, and vouchersRespond to customers, coworkers, and vendor questions and responses promptly and politelyProper usage of store phone and intercom systemsTo supervise/perform the checking of case and cooler temperatures 4 times daily utilizing the time keeping system to record each check.Work Environment Note:Inside work with transitions of heat/cold/humidity/dust from backdoor/compressors/cooler/freezer/preparation area.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the employees assigned to this job.
