Job summary

Homeland is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Food Clerk-Stocker. You will greet customers, assist with product selection, stock shelves, and build displays while upholding safety and cleanliness standards.

In this fast-paced environment, you’ll manage perishables, verify pricing, and ensure signage accuracy. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work collaboratively, and follow store policies to provide exceptional service to every shopper.

Qualifications

  • Basic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Prior Experience in related field or industry.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, assist, and lead customers to product politely.
  • Actively stock, merchandise, and correct product displays.
  • Build and fill displays as needed.
  • Maintain company standards for perishables and stay up to date on all active safety procedures.
  • Transportation of goods within department.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety Codes, checking for pricing and expiration, and maintaining an organizational standard area.
  • To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, assisting within other departments as needed to service customers.

Pick up/remove all broken containers, packing materials/boxes from the sales floor or customers’ pathway immediately.To understand the operation, safety requirements and restraints of a baler, case cutter, pallet jack (must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack and baler).To move damaged/unsalable and "returnable" products from shelves to the backroom, sorting the materials for return to the damage reclaim center.QualificationsBasic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide)High School Diploma or EquivalentPrior Experience in related field or industrySpecific tasksLift, twist, move and carry a maximum of 50 lbs., from the floor to shelving, or overhead racks in the storeMaintain active signage and pricing in all departmental areasCare for signs, banners, and debris from daily operationsRespond to customers, coworkers, and vendor questions and responses promptly and politelyProper usage of store phone and intercom systemsWork Environment Note:Inside work with transitions of heat/cold/humidity/dust from receiving/entrance and exit doors/parking lot areas.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the employees assigned to this job.
