Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Meat Team Leader to oversee merchandising, stocking, product flow, planograms and pricing for the Meat and Seafood departments. You will lead meat team members, drive service excellence, and uphold safety and sanitation standards.

You will recruit staff, train a high-performing team, manage schedules, and ensure accurate pricing while meeting financial goals. This role requires hands-on leadership in a busy retail environment with strong focus on shrinkage control and

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a retail or grocery setting.
• Experience training and coaching team members.
• Ability to develop and manage staff schedules and workloads.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Familiarity with inventory control and shrinkage reduction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day merchandising, stocking, product flow, planograms and pricing for Meat and Seafood.
• Lead Meat team members and ensure service standards.
• Conduct staffing interviews to meet coverage needs.
• Train meat team members to build a high-performance team and reduce turnover.
• Create and manage Meat schedules to deliver top service and control expenses.
• Ensure Real Time Apply is completed accurately and on time and maintain pricing accuracy.
• Enforce sanitation and safety procedures within the department.
• Monitor inventory shrinkage and rotate stock according to guidelines.
• Respond to MITS tasks promptly and perform additional duties as required.

Responsible for the execution of all aspects of day-to-day merchandising, stocking, product flow, planogram, and pricing of the Meat and Seafood departments. The Meat Team Leader is directly responsible for Meat team members.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for achieving financial performance goals in both Meat and Seafood departments.
• Conducts interviews to ensure proper staffing levels are achieved.
• Trains Meat team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
• Writes and manages Meat schedules in order to achieve first class service levels while achieving expense control objectives.
• Ensures Real Time Apply is completed accurately and according to Meijer timelines.
• Ensures both signing execution and pricing accuracy are maintained.
• Accountable for Meijer sanitation and safety procedures.
• Controls and manages inventory shrinkage through BOH accuracy, use of production planners, and adherence to rotation guidelines.
• Reacts to and completes MITS tasks in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
