Job summary

Conagra Brands is seeking a meat science professional to innovate and expand margin across premium meat snacks Fatty and Duke’s. You’ll join our Innovation Tech Center in downtown Chicago, translating consumer insights into new product concepts and scalable processes.

Responsibilities span concept to commercialization, plant trials, prototype development, and collaboration with R&D, supply chain, and manufacturing teams. A strong meat-product background and startup mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Animal Science or related field.
• 3+ years of meat product development experience.
• Experience developing meat-based food products.
• Knowledge of ingredient functionality and cost savings initiatives.
• Curiosity for consumer trends and CPG industry.
• Knowledge of product design, formulation, process, scale-up, and commercialization.
• Strong organization, project management and communication skills.
• Experience in lab, pilot plant and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop new meat snack products from concept through commercialization.
• Conduct plant trials and support new product startups.
• Plan, prioritize and complete projects with accurate records.
• Work with pilot plant equipment under guidance.
• Conceptualize and develop innovative product prototypes.
• Use online specification systems to document product information.
• Design experiments and prepare results for technical review.
• Understand consumer demand spaces and translate insights into concepts.
• Lead product cuttings, trials and testing activities.
• Maintain clean, organized and safe work environment in facility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners for development and launch.
