Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in California is seeking a Meat Clerk to deliver outstanding customer service while handling meat products in a fast-paced store. You will receive, stock, weigh and prepare meat, assist customers with questions and special orders, and maintain clean, safe work areas in accordance with food safety guidelines.

The role requires ability to stand long hours, lift heavy products, and adapt to flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and basic math knowledge.
• Be dependable and reliable and perform other related duties as assigned.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Flexible schedule that changes with the business, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department and maintain clean/work area.
• Adhere to safety, health, weights and measures regulations and company recipes.
• Stand for long periods (up to 8 hours per shift) and walk up to 2 miles per shift.
• Work in a temperature-controlled area and perform cleaning tasks.
• Able to lift/carry products up to 90 lbs. and operate equipment.
• Use pallet jack and move pallets up to 500 lbs.
• Move racks and tables weighing up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service and assist with questions, orders, and needs.
• Receive, store, and prepare meats; check invoices and rotate stock to prevent aging.
• Guide customers to product locations and follow the department programs.
