Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Meat Clerk in the Meat Department to provide prompt, friendly customer service and assist with wrapping, trimming, stocking, and receiving merchandise in the Meat and Seafood areas.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 85 pounds occasionally, and maintaining sanitation standards while ensuring product freshness. High School or equivalent experience is expected, with food safety training a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; food safety training is a plus.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers in a courteous manner.
• Wrap, weigh, label, and stock meat and seafood products.
• Assist customers by escorting to products and handling out-of-reach items.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department and displays.
• Report out-of-stock items and help with replenishment and rotation of products.
