Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Meat Clerk to provide prompt, friendly service in the Meat/Seafood Department. You will wrap, trim, stock cases, weigh and label products, and assist customers with their selections throughout the shift.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, learning names when possible, coordinating with teammates, and maintaining clean, safe, and organized displays while upholding company guidelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent experience, with food safety training.
• Six months or less of similar or related work.
• Must be able to lift up to 85 pounds and work in a cool, damp environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in the Meat/Seafood Department.
• Wraps, weighs, and labels products; greets and assists customers.
• Learn customers' names and address them by name when possible.
• Escort customers to products, help with out-of-reach items, and handle heavy items.
• Restock, rotate, and verify freshness of meat and seafood products.
• Maintain sanitation and clean work area; adhere to personal hygiene standards.
