Job summary

Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG) is seeking a sanitation technician to perform cleaning and sanitation, including inspections and environmental sampling, to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory sanitation requirements at a Sysco location.

The role covers daily cleaning tasks, HACCP/GMP adherence, pest control, chemical handling, and proper paperwork. Prior meat/seafood processing experience and strong English documentation skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years sanitation experience in meat/seafood or food manufacturing.
• Experience with regulatory sanitation programs (HACCP, FSQA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plant cleaning and sanitation and sanitation related inspection/audit procedures to ensure compliance of the production environment to corporate and regulatory sanitation requirements.
• Maintain documentation of cleaning and sanitizing and environmental sampling.
• Inspect processing area for cleanliness and proper sanitation and implement bacterial/organic testing as needed.
