Job summary

Yoke’s Fresh Market in Spokane, WA, is seeking a dedicated Meat Department associate to deliver an inviting, helpful guest experience. You will engage guests, suggest product options, and convey cooking tips while maintaining department standards and food safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience.
• Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Writes simple correspondence. Communicates effectively and pleasantly with guest, vendors and fellow associates at all times.
• Performs mathematical skills using units of American money and weight measurement, volume.
• Meets the state minimum requirement to work with slicers or other Seafood/Meat equipment and tools.
• Valid State Food Handlers Permit
• Valid Driver's License or State I.D. Card

Responsibilities

• Reporting for assigned shifts on time and communicating clearly while performing duties.
• Promoting sales through discussions with guests and sharing product information and current promotions.
• Greeting guests and informing them of features, product information and services offered by the Meat Department.
• Operating equipment safely and completing tasks assigned by supervisory staff.
• Mentoring new associates and ensuring guest requests are handled accurately.

Education

High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
