Job summary

Yoke's Fresh Markets in Mead, WA is seeking a full-time Meat/Seafood Sales Associate to provide friendly, expert service and to maintain top-quality product displays. You will assist guests, offer recommendations, handle product prep and CASE setup, and ensure safety and HACCP practices.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), valid food handlers permit, and a driver’s license or state ID. Benefits include health coverage, 401(k), ESOP, Paid time off, and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Writes simple correspondence. Communicates effectively and pleasantly with guest, vendors and fellow associates at all times.
• Meets the state minimum requirement to work with slicers or other Seafood/Meat equipment and tools.
• Valid State Food Handlers Permit
• Valid Driver's License or State I.D. Card

Responsibilities

• Report for assigned shifts on time, and on a regular basis, capable of communicating clearly and demonstrating suitable physical abilities to safety perform assigned tasks and duties, prepared to provide excellent service.
• Promote sales through active discussions with guests, offering product recommendations, and discussing current promotions and service information.
• Providing guest service by greeting guests, and informing them of special features, product information, and services offered by the Meat/Seafood Department.
• Understanding and capable as assigned of setting cases, preparing products, pulling dated product, opening, closing, code dating, operating sales counter, monitoring stock levels, weighing, pricing, rotating, labeling COOL, ordering, preparing meals in minutes, timing, stacking product type, and using cards to Make Our Guests Crazy About Us!
• Operating equipment safely: slicer, knives, scales, vacuum pack machine, etc.
• Completing any tasks as assigned by supervisory staff.
• Mentoring new associates or associates who are new to the department or task and assuring a positive learning environment.
• Ensuring compliance with local, state, federal and company rules regarding workplace safety, food handling, sanitation/housekeeping standards, and guest services.
