Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Meat Manager to lead a busy Meat & Seafood department, ensuring fresh, high-quality products and outstanding customer service. You will assist in ordering, inventory, training, and daily operations in a fast-paced store environment.

You will work closely with the Meat Manager to supervise staff, enforce health and safety standards, and support teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a basic knowledge of math, weights and measures.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years professional experience, proven leadership experience, and 2-3 years of grocery retail experience in Meat department processes and procedures is highly preferred.
• Be dependable and reliable and perform other related duties as assigned.
• Have an outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Meat & Seafood team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team to deliver high quality products and service.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Meat & Seafood team.
• Adhere to safety, health, and sanitation guidelines and Weights & Measures regulations.
• Unload and sort store deliveries and operate department equipment.
