Job summary

The Fresh Market Meat-Seafood Manager role leads the department, directs team members, and ensures pricing integrity and proper inventory. It is a fast-paced, detail-oriented position focused on delivering excellence in guest service and product quality.

The role requires coaching staff, maintaining TFMA certification within 90 days, and following planograms to drive accurate merchandising while meeting scheduling needs, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant, meat cutting and/or culinary experience.
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely service.
• Handle, slice, expertly cut and trim a variety of the department’s prime and premium meat and seafood products, and items for our convenient meal solutions throughout the day, while also managing quality product levels as indicated within TFMA standards.
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests.
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage.
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels.
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of specialty meat, seafood, and Convenient Meal Solutions throughout the day.
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner.
• Ensure the training and certification of all Assistant Meat Managers and Meat Cutters.
