Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Meat & Seafood Department Lead to support the Department Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will guide your team, ensure a welcoming atmosphere, and keep the department well-presented.

Previous meat-cutting experience is preferred, including knives and grinders, with a focus on leadership and teamwork. You will monitor labor, inventory, and promotions while coaching staff to achieve goals and maintain high standards of hospitality.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, or related sectors.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Proven ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience while achieving goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and support ordering processes.
• Be a resource for team members and provide guidance in the manager’s absence.
• Model hospitality by actively engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Assist in merchandising strategies and promotions to maximize sales.
• Analyze department metrics and collaborate with other department leaders.
