Overview of Responsibilities

As a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be working in one of the most popular departments in our store! You are responsible for providing high-quality customer service, practicing safe food handling procedures, and demonstrating product knowledge and preparation techniques. This hands-on position involves receiving, storing, and grinding meats; unloading and transporting meats from delivery trucks; counting, weighing, and verifying incoming products; examining and rotating meats to prevent aging; assisting customers with questions and special orders; and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Additionally, you should be familiar with weekly ad items, able to direct customers to product locations, and follow our "Clean as You Go" and "Fresh at 4" programs. Adherence to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department is essential. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Dependable, reliable, and able to perform related duties as assigned.
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, and strong customer interaction skills.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Adhere to safety, health, weights, measures regulations, and company recipes.
• Capable of standing for up to 8 hours, walking up to 2 miles per shift.
• Work inside temperature-controlled areas and operate equipment like knives, band saws, grinders, etc., safely.
• Ability to lift/carry 25-90 lbs., and use equipment like pallet jacks and move racks as specified.
