Job summary

Simmons Pet Food in Emporia, KS is seeking a Production Associate for the Can Line 3 shift. This full-time role requires following batch schedules, weighing ingredients, recording lot numbers, and ensuring QC checks are met throughout the canning process.

You will work with the team to keep formulas and batch sheets accurate, sanitize the kitchen during can size changes, and maintain safety PPE. English communication is required; you must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the shift.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Basic math skills, reading, writing, computer knowledge, and good communication in English.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs; stand for the entire shift.
• Wear and follow PPE requirements: hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses.

Responsibilities

• Follow the order of the schedule and call for batches from the meat room, as required.
• Weigh all ingredients and record weight before batching.
• Record lot numbers and supplier for each ingredient used.
• Kitchen operator is a final check for Q.C and supervisor; notify QC and supervisor of anything unusual.
• Follow formula guidelines on each batch sheet.
• Record batching information for each batch on formula kitchen sheets.
• Clean and sanitize the entire kitchen during can size changes or when instructed.
• Follow rinse procedures for cleaning the emulsifier and tanks 1, 2, & 3.
• Regulate the drop temperature per batch sheet guidelines or supervisor instructions.
