Job summary

Harmons Grocery is seeking a seasoned Meat Production Supervisor to ensure safe, high‑quality, and efficient meat production at the Central Food Production Facility. You will oversee meat associates, manage equipment, and collaborate with USDA Inspectors, QA, and Sanitation teams to uphold HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs.

You will lead staffing plans, train and mentor staff, and drive continuous improvements in production flow while ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, and local health regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college education preferred.
• Five years of meat department/butcher experience preferred.
• PCQI certification required.

Responsibilities

• Follows HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs and FSMA standards.
• Ensures FDA, USDA, OSHA, and local health dept regulations compliance.
• Ensures accuracy of lot code labeling for traceability.
• Maintains quality/presentation of all meat items produced.
• Knows cuts of beef, pork, chicken, turkey, seafood, etc., and can cut all meats.
• Writes department schedule to meet production and labor goals.
• Mentors associates and provides feedback on performance.
• Addresses associates’ concerns promptly.
• Plans production based on forecasts and coordinates with Inventory Control.
• Rotates finished products using FIFO methods.
• Assists in improving production flow and efficiency.
• Holds PCQI certification as a facility leader.
• Supports facility-wide success as needed.
