Job summary

Buckhead & Newport Meat and Seafood in Edison, NJ is seeking a proactive team member to support frontline supervision, communicate daily objectives, and mentor staff. The role includes ordering meat as needed and ensuring compliance with USDA guidelines.

You will work with the production team to direct flow, cut to ticket specifications, label products, record data, monitor yields and maintain a clean, safe refrigerated environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and conversions to determine amounts and sizes for orders.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
• Prior experience with portion cutting meat.

Responsibilities

• Direct the short-term flow and organization of the production area with the team.
• Cut to trim and yield specifications as per cut tickets.
• Report discrepancies between cutting tickets and customer purchases to supervisor.
• Label products and equipment to meet legal and safety regs.
• Record data to produce cutting yield tests.
• Count inventory levels and maintain required stock.
• Ensure product specifications meet guidelines.
• Maintain USDA compliance in work areas.
• Assemble/tear down equipment at shift start/end.
• Maintain knives, scales and related tools.
• Support profitability by achieving yields and deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Support safety goals and participate in safety programs.
• Follow safe work practices.
