Job summary

The Wenger Group is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to perform skilled mechanical, electrical, and preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment in a USDA-regulated meat processing environment. You will independently troubleshoot equipment issues and support continuous production uptime.

You will work closely with senior technicians and supervisors, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations while adhering to food safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining production equipment in food processing environments.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Familiarity with USDA/FSIS, HACCP, SSOP, GMP requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair saws, slicers, grinders, conveyors, packaging equipment, and related devices.
• Perform intermediate electrical work involving motors, sensors, switches, and control wiring.
• Conduct equipment alignments, adjustments, and rebuilds as needed.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and execute preventive maintenance.
• Complete and maintain work orders, PM checklists, and parts usage in CMMS.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and Lean Manufacturing.
