Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. seeks team members to pack meat, seal, label and stack products according to work orders and customer preferences. You will assemble boxes, load meat into packaging equipment and ensure GMP and quality standards are followed to keep the production line flowing efficiently.

Position requires lifting up to 60–100 lbs, standing for shifts, and complying with safety procedures. Location is Greensboro, NC with a Sunday–Thursday schedule and start times around 7:00 AM.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift, stack and move 10–35 lb regularly and up to 60–100 lb depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule and prepare for operations.
• Assemble and package meat products per work orders.
• Label and seal cases and stack finished products on pallets.
• Operate Cryovac sealer and related packaging equipment.
• Maintain clean packaging area and follow GMP and safety standards.
• Complete paperwork and secure equipment at end of shift.

Position Summary

The primary function of this position is to pack meat in boxes, seal, label and stack finished product on pallets according to work order specifications and customer preferences, as well as assemble boxes, clean packaging area and equipment ensuring all GMP and quality standards are met and to maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process.

Position Responsibilities

• Review work schedule, perform safety check on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations
• Check cutting list and obtain appropriate packaging materials (boxes, labels, tape, bags, wrap) from storage with pallet jack
• Manually assemble boxes-cases, make labels and fill Cryovac sealer with appropriate wrap as required
• Load finished cuts of meat from tubs into Cryovac sealer, raise and lower doors as required and place sealed meat on work-table
• Manually pack meat into cases, label and seal cases with tape gun / or strapping machine and stack finished cases on pallets
• Perform general housekeeping duties, clean packaging work area and equipment, maintain and abide safety and quality regulations and standards as required
• At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to lift, stack, and/or pull product weighing 10–35 lbs. regularly and up to approximately 60–100 lbs. (location dependent)

Compensation

Starting at $17.00 per hour
