Job summary

Hannaford in Manchester, NH is seeking a Meat Cutter/Management Trainee to develop leadership skills within the Meat department. You will support daily operations, train staff, and ensure adherence to safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include meat cutting, staff coaching, using company tools (MPP, BIG), maintaining schedules, and driving department profitability. High school diploma preferred; aim to obtain Certified Food Safety Manager within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage a team.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Accreditation as Certified Food Safety Manager or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform Meat Cutter functions as necessary.
• Provide recognition of accomplishments and offer counseling when necessary.
• Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect.
• Ensure department associates are properly trained by certified trainers.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Develop product knowledge across Meat department items.
• Conduct performance appraisals for department associates.
• Maintain schedules to meet production and customer service standards.
• Understand and use company tools such as MPP, financial reports, scheduling and BIG.
• Ensure sanitation, safety and food safety standards are followed.
• Understand causes of shrink and how to resolve it.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
