Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage a team.
• Accredited or willing to become a Certified Food Safety Manager within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform Meat Cutter functions as necessary.
• Provide recognition of accomplishments and offer constructive counseling.
• Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect.
• Ensure department associates are trained by certified trainers.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Develop product knowledge across Meat department items.
• Conduct performance appraisals for department staff.
• Maintain schedules to meet production and customer service standards.
• Use company tools for reporting, scheduling, and ordering.
• Maintain merchandising standards and meat case plan-o-grams.
• Communicate effectively within the department and organization.
• Observe sanitation, safety, and food safety standards.
• Understand and resolve shrink and control costs.
• Know the department's standard practices and manuals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
