Job summary

Stew Leonard's Meat Gourmet team is seeking a Culinary Assistant (Meat Gourmet) for full-time hours. The role involves preparing gourmet meat items, following recipes, maintaining product quality, and providing friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Flexible, motivated individuals with strong work ethic and basic computer skills are encouraged to apply. The position requires adherence to safety and sanitation standards and physical endurance for handling perishable products.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Entry level position; no experience required.
• Safely use/operate knives, hand chopper, mixer, cube steak machine and meat wrapper.
• Basic computer skills (ordering signs).
• Great customer service.
• Good oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Mix and prepare all gourmet meat products using established recipes.
• Examine cases and prepare production plan based on item priority, being mindful of high sales volume products.
• Maintain, fill and rotate products for quality, freshness, and proper dates.
• Gather necessary ingredients based on determined production needs, being mindful of seasonal items.
• Wrap and label product.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and responding to questions.
• Ensure work area is clean and ingredients are put away at end of shift.
• Adhere to all health, sanitation and safety regulations.
• Assist in other duties, as assigned.
