Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking team members for the Meat Department to support counter service, stocking, and sanitation. You will ensure a fresh, inviting display, assist with sampling, and maintain clean, safe work areas while delivering courteous, helpful service to customers and teammates.

No prior retail experience is required. The role supports store programs, follows Weights and Measures, and adheres to health and safety regulations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department.
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
• Proactively reads labels and familiarizes oneself on various products.
• Assists with periodic inventory checks.
• Ability to deliver information clearly to team members, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations in all interactions.
• Ability to follow directions and procedures; strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Ensures fresh and appealing display by checking quality and stocking cases.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Assists with sampling program and keeps sample areas full and clean.
• Cleans cases, glass, signs, and floors as required.
• Arrives on time; attends required trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service and assists customers promptly.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Maintains clean and sanitary working/shopping environment and equipment.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures pricing accuracy.
• Reports safety hazards and violations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
