ShopRite of Byram in Stanhope, NJ is seeking a Meat Wrapper Clerk to support the Meat Department with wrapping, packaging, scaling, and price marking. The role emphasizes customer service, proper product handling, and adherence to safety and QA standards.

The position requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 90 lb occasionally, and tolerance of varying temperatures. Training covers food safety, sanitation, and accurate reporting, with opportunities tied to a union contract.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak English fluently.
• Basic math skills required for discounts and pricing.
• Stand, bend, reach, push/pull, and lift up to 35 lbs regularly; up to 80–90 lbs occasionally.
• Strong knowledge of safe food handling and HACCP basics.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and follow schedules.
• Shift may exceed 8 hours; punctuality and regular attendance required.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures in meat department.
• Familiarity with price marking and stock display tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Check refrigeration equipment and report issues.
• Stock merchandise and display cases in the Meat Department.
• Perform price marking and order entry as needed.
• Ensure QA and sanitation standards are followed.
• Complete daily reports and inventory logs.
• Assist in receiving and rotating meat products.
• Promote current promotions to customers.
• Adhere to all safety, security, and company policies.
