Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Meat Team Leader to support the Meat Manager by directing team members, handling orders, and implementing merchandising initiatives to grow the business while meeting customer needs.

The role requires 3–5 years of meat operations experience, a high school diploma, and a meat cutting certification. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be at least 18.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in meat operations or retail.
• Knowledge of Market District meat procedures and product handling.
• Ability to read and interpret Profit and Loss statements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Meat Manager in running the department via orders and assignments.
• Provide customers with cuts and fill sales cases.
• Maintain product levels in cases and prepare items.
• Ensure procedures to meet out-of-stock goals.
• Promote staff development and identify management candidates.
• Unloading and checking in orders; maintain cold-chain.
• Uphold safety, HACCP, OSHA standards and sanitation.
