Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Meat Team Leader to help lead the Meat Department by directing Team Members, placing orders for raw materials, and executing merchandising initiatives to grow the business while meeting customer needs.

Responsibilities include supporting the Meat Manager, maintaining cold-chain and product levels, training staff, and ensuring safety and compliance with health and HACCP standards.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in related field or management role in Meat operations.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Market District meat procedures and ability to read and interpret Profit and Loss statements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Meat Manager in running the Meat Department by writing orders and assigning tasks.
• Provide customers with a variety of meat cuts and assist in case filling.
• Maintain product levels and ensure proper stocking for sales cases.
• Ensure adherence to procedures to meet out-of-stock goals.
• Develop Team Members and identify candidates for Management Development Process.
• Understand and adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Unload and check in deliveries and maintain cold-chain processes.
• Promote safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
