Job summary

Northgate Gonzalez Market is hiring for an operations role in our Southern California stores. You will maintain clean workstations, rotate and label products, manage inventory, and assist customers with a friendly, efficient service approach.

You will work within a team, follow recipes and production standards, and help ensure safety and quality across daily duties in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Must have sufficient math skills to understand measurements for prepping/cooking.
• Ability to hear, speak and understand spoken word to respond to requests and assist customers.
• Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand English in job-related documents.
• Familiar with roles in department and operations; able to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and sanitize surfaces and utensils as needed.
• Check inventory and replenish ingredients and supplies when needed.
• Produce food according to Northgate Markets recipes and production norms.
• Follow production schematics and adjust output for events, weather, or other factors.
• Rotate products and label/date items following FIFO rules.
• Maintain inventory of products on display and in refrigerators per FIFO rules.
• Replenish product according to current assortment and customer needs.
• Assist customers and support the customer service line when needed.
• Cross-train other employees and develop team members as required.
• Ensure readiness times and hours of operation are met and shift transitions are smooth.
