Job summary

The Kroger Co. in New Berlin, WI is seeking a Meat Department Supervisor to plan, organize, train and direct department associates, handle production and customer service, and maximize store sales, while upholding Kroger’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

You will supervise pricing and merchandising, maintain proper signage and product rotation, keep temperature logs, conduct performance reviews, train staff, and contribute to department budgets and goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop maximum customer relations through friendliness and courtesy and implementation of all company policies.
• Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained.
• Perform and direct pricing and displaying of merchandise; maintain signage, rotation, freshness, quantity and space.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
• Train and develop Meat department employees and ensure proper use of learned skills.
• Implement company programs and adhere to policies, ensuring a harassment-free environment.
• Make recommendations on hiring, firing, disciplining, demotion, transfer and evaluation of meat staff.
• Promote and communicate company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports.
• Demonstrate ability to manage people and organize workloads.
• Supervise and coach staff; complete performance reviews and provide feedback.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
• Manage conflict in a constructive manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
