Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Nashville is seeking a Meat Department Leader to plan, organize, train and direct department associates. You will perform production and customer service tasks to maximize store sales and profits while upholding the company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

You will supervise and coach staff, participate in budgeting, and ensure proper handling of temperature logs, merchandising, pricing, signage and display.

Responsibilities

• Develop maximum customer relations through friendliness and courtesy and implementation of all company policies.
• Keep Meat department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained; train staff on temperature logging.
• Perform and direct pricing and display of merchandise with proper signage, rotation and space allocation.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
• Train and develop Meat department employees to emphasize customer courtesy and productivity.
• Implement company programs and maintain a harassment-/discrimination-free work environment.
• Make recommendations on hiring, firing, disciplining, demotion, transfers and evaluations of meat department staff.
• Promote company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports in a positive manner.
• Manage workloads and supervise direct reports; conduct performance reviews and deliver feedback.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced environments and manage conflicts professionally.
• Demonstrate honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
