Job summary

Responsibilities include developing department business plans, scheduling, inventory management, price changes, and ensuring product quality and proper temperatures.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Current food handlers permit once employed.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Any meat/retail experience.
• Any management experience.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Monitor all functions, duties and activities related to the Meat department.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
• Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
• Plan and organize the inventory process, maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, and train department associates on inventory/stocking and CAO.
• Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting safety risks.
