Fresh Thyme Market is seeking a Meat Manager to lead the Meat Department, ensuring best-in-class customer service and safe, efficient operations. You will manage staff, control margins, and supervise inventory while maintaining a friendly, energetic team environment.

The role requires hands-on leadership, adherence to department policies, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-volume retail setting with a focus on quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency degree.
• Minimum of 4 years professional experience.
• Preferred 3-5 years grocery retail experience in Meat department processes.
• Journeyman cutter program completed.
• Prev. experience in natural foods industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares weekly sales and labor projections for the meat department to maximize sales and profits.
• Monitors costs and expenses within the department, including ordering, inventory control, and displays.
• Manages Meat Department staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Oversees shift operations and approves work schedules.
• Ensures meat products are properly weighed, labeled, and displayed with accurate pricing.
