Job summary

Piggly Wiggly is seeking a Meat Department Manager to lead a key department with a commercial mindset. You will own vendor relationships, curate product ranges, and drive profitability through smart pricing and promotions while maintaining high quality standards for the community.

Responsibilities include strategic growth, financial oversight, team leadership, and ensuring safety and cleanliness. This role emphasizes leadership in a fast-paced retail environment and offers a path for growth

Qualifications

Experience in meat department or high-volume retail environment is highly recommended.
Must lift at least 50 lbs and safely operate butcher knives and related equipment.

Responsibilities

Strategic Growth: set department objectives to maximize consumer appeal and profitability.
Financial & Performance Oversight: monitor budgets and performance reports to hit aggressive goals.
Team Leadership: recruit, train, and supervise staff and mentor the team.
Merchandising & Vendor Relations: maintain vendor relationships and oversee pricing/promotions.
Operational Integrity: ensure efficient operations and adherence to safety standards.
Expert Oversight: uphold food safety, quality control, and cleanliness.
