Job summary

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience as Lead of a Meat Department.
• Able to read at an eighth-grade level.
• Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Knowledge of weight measurements and the use of a scale.
• Knowledge of Mexican meat cuts (carnitas, barbacoa, chicharrón).
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, bone, tie and grind different types of meat (chicken, beef, pork).
• Wrap and weigh meat to dispatch customers and ensure correct pricing.
• Arrange meat in the display case and maintain visual appeal.
• Estimate meat needs and order supplies; manage inventory.
• Receive, inspect and store meat; keep area clean and safe.
• Develop and train new employees in product preparation.
• Build relationships with customers to increase sales and upsell.
