Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Meat Department Lead at our Fenton, MI store to supervise daily operations, ensure staffing, and maintain product quality. You will cut and prepare various meat products, manage inventory, and work with the Department Manager to meet goals while upholding safety and customer service standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to read and interpret documents.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products preferred.
• Detail Oriented.
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain inventory in the department using inventory control to ensure freshness and quality.
• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight; ensure proper storage.
• Assist Department Manager in leading a team to completion of stocking, production and other tasks.
• Maintain familiarity with products in the department and store, and stay aware of sales and rewards programs.
• Follow schedules, manage labor, overtime and payroll expense for the department.
• Ensure food safety, PPE and cleaning guidelines are followed.
• Attend daily huddles and participate in plan development and execution.
