Job summary

Whole Foods Market is hiring for a Meat Team member to support counter service, stocking, and sanitation in the meat department. The role emphasizes courteous service and adherence to health and safety regulations across the department.

Responsibilities include maintaining fresh displays, assisting with sampling, and ensuring clean, organized cases while meeting company standards and participating in ongoing trainings. Prior retail experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to sell proactively and upsell when appropriate.
• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all department products.
• Ability to visually inspect product quality and freshness.
• Ability to read labels and understand product details.
• Ability to participate in periodic inventory checks.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers, Team Members, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fresh, appealing product displays and well-stocked shelves.
• Maintain back stock in good order.
• Assist with sampling program; keep areas clean and appealing.
• Clean cases, glass, uprights, signs, coolers, floors, and drains.
• Arrive on time, groomed, and ready for shifts; attend trainings.
• Provide courteous customer service and use suggestive selling where appropriate.
• Maximize sales through proper prep, storage, and merchandising.
• Follow procedures including health, sanitation, and Weights & Measures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and equipment.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure correct pricing.
• Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
