Job summary

Food Lion in Elkton, VA is hiring for a Perishable Department associate. You will provide quality customer service, maintain product levels, rotate and stock meat, dairy and other perishables, and ensure food safety and store standards.

Responsibilities include welcoming customers, assisting teammates, receiving deliveries, coding and stocking items, following CAO/ACIS processes, and upholding safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly service.

• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise is done per guidelines.
• Maintain proper product levels in Perishable Department (meat, lunchmeat, dairy, ice cream).
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat case as requested or needed.
• Assemble, disassemble, and clean the grinder as requested or needed.
• Clean and sanitize the department.
• Maintain layout standards and comply with advertising materials.
• Follow Food Lion policies, guidelines and safety procedures.
• Report accidents per procedures and wear uniform when on duty.
