Job summary

ShopRite of Glenolden is seeking a Meat Department Associate to deliver a great customer experience while maintaining an appealing department. You will cut meat, prepare products per standards, and help customers choose items with courtesy.

Responsibilities include sanitation, rotation, and proper handling of products in a refrigerated environment, with adherence to safety policies and company guidelines. Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Strong knowledge of safe food handling and safe work habits.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 35 lbs., up to 80–90 lbs. on occasion.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to operate Meat Department equipment such as band saws, grinders, wrapping machines, power jacks, knives and cutters.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Maintain sanitation in accordance with Company policy.
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Work in refrigerated cutting rooms and cold storage environments.
• Follow procedures for receiving, dating, storing, and pricing products.
• Handle damaged and spoiled products per policy and assist with inventory control.
• Check refrigeration equipment and report failures.
• Unload trucks and transport meat products as needed.
• Rotate and replenish meat in display cases as required to ensure quality.
• Dress and groom according to Company policy; adhere to QA and sanitation standards.
• Perform duties in line with ShopRite Service Priorities (Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, Efficiency).
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance; work overtime as required.
