Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Meat Cutter to prepare, package and merchandise fresh products daily while ensuring food safety standards. You will cut, trim, bone and label meat, operate grinders and slicers, and assist customers with selections.

The role requires basic meat-cutting skills, customer service ability, and adherence to department SOPs. 18+ age, 1+ year experience, and certification requirements are noted in the job description.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related experience and / or training
• Working knowledge of product rotation and department sanitation
• Meat-cutting skills (saw, grinder)
• Completion of power jack training
• Meat Cutter certification within 3 months

Responsibilities

• Cuts, trims, bones meat for display or as ordered by Customer, according to company standards
• Operates electric grinder, saw, knife sharpener, tenderizer, slicer
• Weighs / wraps / labels product packages for counter display; rotates product as needed
• Rotates product in meat cooler; ensures proper storage practices
• Uses MCS technology to generate production list and track "re-works"
• Assists customers with product questions
• Scans in items on Telxon for production
• Assists in technical areas as needed
