The Kroger store in Salem, OR is hiring for a Meat Department associate to create an outstanding customer experience and maintain safe, clean surroundings. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and quality standards while engaging customers with product knowledge and samples.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed.
• Possess adequate knife handling skills and knife speed.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
