Job summary

Chedraui USA in San Diego is seeking a Meat Cutter under direct supervision to break, cut and prepare meat products to company standards, both for display and for customer orders.

You will work with Meat Clerks and the Meat Manager to determine items to cut, assist customers with special orders, and perform the heavy lifting and standing required in a fast-paced grocery environment; a Food Handler Card is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform very heavy lifting and stand for prolonged periods.
• Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling and serving food.
• Experience in meat preparation to company standards and customer orders is a plus.

Job description

Under direct supervision, the Meat Cutter breaks, cuts, and prepares meat products, using hand tools and power equipment, in the variety, size, quantity, and trim prescribed by company standards. Meat products are prepared for display or as ordered by customers. Works with customers to take special orders. Works with Meat Clerks and Meat Manager to determine which items need to be cut. Must be able to perform very heavy lifting, bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
