Overview

Available Work Shifts OR Days and Times Team Members Must be Available to Work

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. 10am-6pm

Team Members who are interested in hours available for a role different than their current position, shall follow the existing internal application process by completing an Internal Application. The Internal Application can be accessed electronically via the Electronic Internal Job Board. Team Members may also request a paper internal application from the Administrative Coordinator.

Overview of Responsibilities

• Follow established department procedures for receiving and unloading incoming shipments, pricing the product, and stocking cases to ensure quality, protection, accuracy, and proper rotation of product in the cases and cooler.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment to ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation requirements as set forth by the company and mandated by state, federal, and OSHA regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and government weights and measures and labeling laws.
• Greet customers and take their orders.
• Cut, tray, and package all required meat and seafood products for the day.
• Maintain proper safety practices and care while using all cutting accessories; comply with the use of mesh gloves while using a knife.
• Participate in pre-inventory preparation, including back stock and matching tags with products.

Qualifications

To be a Meat Cutter at Sprouts, you must have the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience.
• Preferred 2-3 years of grocery retail experience in Meat department processes and procedures.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Reliable and dependable; ability to follow directions.
• Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
• Strong communication skills; outgoing and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to perform repetitive activities.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
• Weekend, evening, and holiday work required.
• Must be able to lift/carry products weighing between 25 to 90 lbs., over distances up to 10 feet, for up to 20 hours.
• Must be able to operate a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs., over distances up to 100 feet, for up to 5 hours.
• Ability to move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs., over distances up to 50 feet, for up to 10 hours.
• Ability to move tables weighing up to 70 lbs., over short distances, for up to 1 hour.
• Ability to pull down gates weighing up to 10 lbs., over short distances, for up to 1 hour.
• Ability to exert bilateral force up to 30 lbs. for extended periods.
• Use of a 2-step stool for up to 10 steps per hour.
• Capable of standing for up to 4 hours continuously, and a total of 8 hours per shift.
• Work inside a temperature-controlled environment.
• Good vision for using sharp knives and equipment.
• Ability to walk up to 2 miles during an 8-hour shift.
