Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Alexandria, VA is seeking an entry-level Meat Team Member to support counter service, stocking, and sanitation in the meat department. You will provide courteous, friendly service and assist with merchandising while following health and safety regulations.

No prior retail experience is required; you will train on product knowledge and customer service. The wage range starts at $18.00 per hour, with benefits available for full/part-time Team Members.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department.
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
• Proactively reads labels and familiarizes oneself on various products.
• Assists with periodic inventory checks.
• Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
• Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains fresh and appealing display; checks quality; keeps cases and shelves clean and stocked; rotates and removes out-of-date products.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Assists with sampling program; keeps sample areas full, clean and appealing.
• Cleans cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains.
• Arrives to work station on time; attends required trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service; addresses needs of customers promptly.
• Maximizes sales potential through proper prep, storage, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows health and sanitation procedures and safe work practices.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary working/shopping environment; maintains equipment.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures pricing signs are accurate.
• Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
